Scorecard
Description:
Donald Ross - Built in 1917. Tee moved in 1949. A straight away par 5 that seems quite benign until you negotiate the out of bounds all along the left side and pesky bunkers on the right side. From 150 yards inward to the green the hole gets narrow, requiring an accurate second shot. Long hitters can reach with an accurate fairway wood or long iron through the small opening between the greenside bunkers.
How to Play It:
Two long and straight shots will do the trick. Drive as close to the left fairway bunkers as possible in order to take the boundary out of play on your second shot. Your second shot must be able to carry the right fairway bunker (at the 115-100 yard point) or you might want to lay up to 130 yards shot to give yourself a little more room. It is best to keep your shot under the hole.
