Description: |
Devereaux Emmett - 1921.
Like #2, this is a classic short hole. The fairway bunkers left and right narrow the landing zone for the longer hitters. The small elevated green is beautifully bunkered short and left and features a grass swale on the right. The green slopes back to front and left to right as a small ridge intervenes from the left greenside bunker. The green is very subtle except for the uphill putts |
|
How to Play It: |
The long, accurate drive will result in an uphill pitch and a good chance at birdie. A lay up short of the bunkers leaves 125-150 yards and makes this small green even smaller. A drive to the left center relieves some of the pressure of the frontal bunker, but be sure you carry your second fully on to the green. Leaving yourself an uphill putt from right half of the green is ideal. |
